Rachel Rosen, LMFT

Working style

As a therapist, my work starts when relationships, challenges, and/or life in general have become too difficult to manage on your own. I treat individuals, couples, and families from a relational lens using a mix of relational and individual interventions, as well as an incorporation of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) coping skills to increase distress tolerance and reduce tension for all individuals involved.

Throughout our work together, it is my priority to provide culturally inclusive treatment, navigating the nuances of both visible and invisible identities. If you are willing to engage in the therapeutic process, then Iā€™m all hands on deck to assist.

Training & Experience

I am a US-trained Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) holding a license from the state of Illinois. My experience includes work as a family therapist in higher levels of care (PHP/IOP) at Compass Health Center in Chicago, IL. There, I treated families in crisis impacted by Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, OCD, school avoidance/refusal, children with physical aggression, and more. Additionally, I have experience providing outpatient therapy to individuals and families in a community mental health setting and in private practice settings.

As an expat myself, I understand the complexities of adjusting to a new culture and how this can impact a person. While living in the Netherlands, I have worked individually with students at The British School of the Netherlands as a counselor on-site. There, I typically work closely with international students who need support adjusting to a new environment, as well as a range of issues spanning from Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, Identity and more.
